The West Coast, and much of the country, has had a turbulent Spring, with severe storms and weather watches. Lisa and Anton's elopement was a few days after a major storm, causing blackouts in the region, and the day before another one. They chose the Pītau experience and added on a night's stay at View With A Room, which is included in the Rātā and Taharangi packages. Their big day plan was for a low-tide sunset ceremony, but the reality of nature and the beauty of planning elopements instead of huge weddings is that we can be flexible on the day to do what's best. So with the latest weather updates in hand, we decided to have the ceremony a little earlier in the evening to make the most of the clearer weather window then. And it was beautiful!
Don't they look gorgeous together here?

Simply breathtaking. ♥ We were fortunate enough to have Shirley not only host us at this beautiful spot but also have her photograph our wedding, along with Gen from their business 'Elope West Coast'. Such wonderful women who made us feel like part of the family for our special occasion. Wonderful memories were made. Motukiekie will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Thanks to Shirley & Marius’ hospitality and Shirley & Gen’s wonderful elopement business.
