Courtney and Caleb

Courtney and Caleb wanted to share their elopement with their best friend, Lilly, their golden retriever, which made our dog-loving hearts sing! The three came on a road-trip and chose the Pītau experience.

We provided the human witnesses for the legal side of things, but Lilly was their witness of honour, complete with her own paw-signed keepsake declaration!

While the accommodation we offer in the Rātā and Taharangi packages is not pet-friendly, the beach is, and so are we. If you would like to include your furry family member in your elopement, we're very happy to help make it happen.

Courtney and Caleb write: We honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better than Gen and Shirley to be part of such a special moment in our lives. From the very beginning, they were incredibly kind, warm and reassuring, and made us feel so comfortable and at ease.

What meant so much to us was how thoughtful they were about Lilly being part of our day. They welcomed her with open arms and even made her own little witness declaration so she could officially be part of the paperwork.  It was such a beautiful and unexpected touch, and something we will truly treasure forever.

They went above and beyond to make our day feel personal, relaxed and incredibly special. We are so grateful to Gen and Shirley for helping create such wonderful memories for us. We will always remember the laughs and love we felt on our day.
