Donna and Jason

Donna and Jason were our second elopement through Elope West Coast, and it couldn’t have felt more different from the first, which was part of what made that week so memorable. They’re locals, with a deep affection for each other and for the beach itself, and they chose the Taharangi experience for their elopement.

The weather kept us on our toes, with showers moving through on and off. One of the advantages of eloping, as well as staying right by the beach, is the ability to be flexible, and we adjusted the timing so their ceremony could happen in a clear window, without needing to rush or compromise the feel of the day.

Donna and Jason also chose to keep things very simple. There were no decorative panels, no signing table or chairs. Instead, they let the setting speak for itself and used their vintage car to hold the paperwork, which suited them perfectly and felt very much in keeping with the day.

They weren’t interested in spending a long time on photos, knowing they would be returning later in the month with family to capture those moments together. On this day, it was about the ceremony itself and being there, without distraction.

Things got off to a tricky start as Gen nearly took a tumble going down to the beach!
